Blog content has been churning out like none other these past few weeks, amiright? Can I get a woo-hoo for that!? 🙂 Not only has this holiday season already been a whirlwind, but it’s been the best holiday season yet. Spending this time in our new home, decorating, eating good food, hosting events with family…there’s truly nothing more special.
I’ve also loved getting to know all of you more through the content I share. It makes me happy to divulge all of my favorite tips and tricks, especially when it’s during a hectic, busy season like right now. I know that I need all the help that I can get as a toddler mama, basset hound mama, wife, domestic engineer, etc. etc. etc. and I appreciate when other ladies/mamas share their favorites or what’s working best for them. It’s an easy way to continue to lift one another up and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Now, if you are a parent, take a moment to think of the first time you felt the weight of your responsibility of caring for your children. We got heavy early on this post. 🙂 Ok, got your moment? What or when was that? Leave me a comment below! I think the first time I felt that responsibility was the day I found out I was pregnant. I remember that day clearly. I had this feeling a lot of people talk about – “you just know” type of feeling. And when the pregnancy test read positive I was OVER. THE. MOON. I already had purchased a onesie to surprise my husband because I wanted to be prepared to tell him immediately. I still plan ahead like that as a way to manage my stress. That day was our 1 month wedding anniversary so when I handed him a gift, he didn’t think it was anything out of the ordinary.
Today’s blog post is about MUST HAVES for your baby 0-3 months old. My daughter recently turned 3 months old and, like I wrote in my post “3 things I wish I knew about becoming a Mom”, I feel like we are coming out of the thick of it. The first 3 months spent with your newborn are so hard! Our little one rarely slept and constantly nursed so let me tell you, we tried almost everything under the sun to help cope. Out of all the baby products we purchased I thought I’d share our favorites that actually helped. Products are linked!
As a new Mom of a 3 month old baby girl, I understand how precious time is. Every spare moment is spent rushing to sleep, or to feed and bathe yourself. I also understand that when you do find that rare time to leave your home, or if you decide to have the type of company over who have never seen the 3-months-no-sleep version of you, that maybe you’d like to at least have the option of covering up some of the “mombie”. The routine I have created for such moments is super quick and simple yet reliable for bringing back some of that pregnancy glow. 😏
Becoming a Mom is hard. Being a Mom is HARD. There are hundreds? of books on what to do, what to buy, how to be for Moms and soon-to-be Moms and yet the majority of them only give a small peek into what life is really like for us. Is this because they don’t want to scare us? I think what’s even scarier is getting blind sighted when you thought motherhood was going to be all roses and glitter. I’m a brand-new, stay-at-home Mama and these are the top 3 things I wish someone would have told me about becoming a Mom. Hopefully you read this and feel validated or it at least takes away some of your shock!
