I cannot believe how long it’s been since I’ve last posted here on my blog! I knew I couldn’t pass up creating a post for Mother’s Day because it means so much more to me every year that passes.
I remember when I was much younger telling my parents every year that it didn’t make sense…why was there a “Mother’s Day” and a “Father’s Day” and NO. KID’S. DAY? I chuckle at my young naivete and can answer this question 10x over now. My Mother would always respond that “every day is kid’s day,” and no truer words have been spoken. We as parents (ahem, and more specifically Mothers, amiright?) bust our behinds every moment of every day for our kid/s. The amount of finagling that it takes to run a household and live semi-productive lives is insane here in 2019 so what better excuse do we need than to reward ourselves for such repetitive sacrifice.
I think we can all agree, Mothers specially are angels sent down from Heaven. We are the CEOs of our individual households – cooking (sometimes), cleaning (also sometimes), packing bags, wiping booties, brushing teeth, kissing boo boos, researching the best schools, scheduling EVERYTHING, rocking every single task we are given and NEVER ever putting ourselves first. So now, mamas, it’s our day. A day you should literally ask for anything and everything you’ve ever wanted. You f*cking deserve it and for the love, please don’t waste anyone’s time trying to convince otherwise. I have compiled all the things on my Mother’s Day splurge list to share with you all in hopes you are inspired to ask for the same things or come up with something else equally as bomb. These gifts can easily be applied to your own mothas as well because she’s straight up amazing too. Let’s begin.
Alright lovelies, you know the drill!
Up next…this month’s favorite Amazon purchases…
It is officially that time of the year – HOLIDAY SEASON! Halloween this year was so much fun and I know Thanksgiving & Christmas will be too. Donald and I are hosting this year so between the food & decor, I want to make sure it’s as magical as possible for everyone.
One of the ways I plan on ensuring a grand time is by planning to give great gifts. I’ve posed the question before – what kind of gift giver are you? Are you someone who is dashing through the mall late Christmas Eve to pick up whatever you can find? Are you someone who meticulously plans all year long? Or are you somewhere in between? Comment down below and let me know which one you’re most like! I lean towards the meticulously plan all year side. When a loved one mentions, “oh I really want that,” I take note. These days everyone is so hard to buy for that I find it really helps if you have a list of requested items!
If you’re in a gift slump or if you need just a few ideas to finish your gift giving list, don’t worry! I am happy to have put together an ULTIMATE gift guide for you all that will include UNIQUE gifts for all of the special people in your life. You will find the gifts below listed in categories in hopes of making it easier on you all to find exactly what you need. I will link as much as I can so that you can find more detailed information on the appropriate site. Annnnd GO!
Can you actually believe it!?! It is November! Ahhh! This is not a drill, this is not a drill! 😂
I have barely started on my Christmas shopping, which I usually do sooner rather than later, and it’s stressing me out! I really love the process of Christmas shopping. I like to plan for gift giving all year long. A tip I have for gift ideas is to keep track of when your loved ones say, “ooo I really want ___.” I take note of that all year long and then feel more prepared for giving the best gifts! Where are you at on your holiday shopping?
And what about holiday decor? When will you guys be decorating for the holidays – before November 15th or after? I usually want Christmas decor up the second I take Halloween down, but this year is different. I don’t know if it’s because I’m trying to make time slow down or what, but I feel like if I put up all my Christmas decor that means it’s right around the corner and I want to enjoy November, gosh darnit! At the same time, I put Christmas decor up early because I want to enjoy it for as long as possible. It’s a conundrum for sure. haha! Maybe I will just slowly decorate this year. We shall see!
With all that said, I love doing these monthly Amazon favorites blog posts as it would be a great reference for anyone looking for great, unique gifts. I also plan on completing a gift guide (stocking stuffers included) to come out mid-November so stay tuned!
Now…let’s get into the favorite Amazon purchases for this month! Adios, October. You were pretty amazing.
